Hello Alois

My coach is keep saying that my backswing is far over my limit ( my hand goes to back )

I dont have any defects from it but my coach is keeping saying that I must learn to control it

I see Ma Long, Xu Xin and other more fantastic players and they swing their bat behind their body even around their bodies.

so is it really important to control my backswing?

-thank you-

Hi Chris,

I tend to agree with your coach without seeing you play.

You can still generate power with a more controlled backswing and you will gain consistency.

Ma Long and Xu Xin have a lot more hours under their belt than the normal player.  Even though you see their backswing as big, it is still controlled and they have very good feel for where their bat is at all times.
