Strokes
Hi Alois and Jeff,
Forehand topspin to topspin is fairly easy, but how do you execute a good backhand counterspin in a long rally?
ive seen some players doing this. Ma Lin seems to take the ball on the highest point, Kong Linghui sometimes takes it very early off the bounce, and Jorgen Persson seems to get into a good sitting position and takes the ball while its falling and plays a shot with loads of speed and spin. which of these is best for the backhand counterspin?
Thank you!
Hi Shripathi,
To start with it is easiest to hit the ball at the top of the bounce. As you see it then becomes a bit of a preference with players taking the ball at their own position.
Taking it early is more difficult because the ball is moving a little faster and you then need to get the ball up and down quickly because you are hitting it from a low position.
