Hi

I play with long pips and i tend to use them with my backhand.

lately i have been noticing that with heavy topspin the ball either goes into the net or off the table.

I tend to play a push/chop kind of shot and this is not working.

i was wondering what shot i should play with long pips on my backhand to prevent this.

Thanks a lot

Will

Hi Will,

The best option is to play a chop block type of shot.  So coming down on the ball.  The angle depends on the type of spin and speed that you are getting.

We have a lesson on Long Pimple Chop Block that will help.

  3. Finish Position: Completing the stroke in a way that prepares you for the next shot.

Additionally, we discuss how to adjust your bat angle if the ball goes long, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the same start and finish positions without coming across your body.
