Hi Ping Skills,

I would like to ask how does Zhang Jike execute this backhand service receive off a backspin serve by Ma Long. May I know how is this executed and how could I impart this technique into my game (i.e. When to and not to execute).

Thank you.

Hi Christian,

The serve goes long which allows Zhang Jike to swing a little more.  He then uses the speed of his racket an the grip on his rubber to lift the backspin ball and place it down the line.

You need to have good speed with your racket and the ball needs to be off the end of the table to allow you to swing that way and lift the ball over the net.
