Hi, could you help me take a look at two youtube links? I am really sorry as both are in chinese.

Am I right to say that the difference between 2 techniques is that for the first one, it is more of a forward action and the second one, it is more of an upward action?

Also, are there any more differences to note?

Hi JinMeng,

I have had a look at the two strokes and without being able to understand what he is saying, I can not see too many differences in what he is doing between the two videos.  The swings look very similar to me.

Thank you very much. Is the second video more spinner or rather has higher levels of top spin? Thanks.

I don't see it that way too much.

Under which conditions do we use a high, slow looping shot , compared to a faster, but not so loopy shot and vice versa?

When the opponent doesn't like it.  That is always the criteria.

This question is regarding the two backhand loop videos in chinese I showed you earlier in the day. So far, I have managed to have two kinds of loops, the fast and the not so spinny one, and the other being loopy, high but slow ...for these two shots,PARDON ME IF I AM WRONG, I kind of think that the quality is poor, as I feel that it is easy to block or even smash for the latter. How do you achieve both the high, loopy, as well as placement of the ball at the back of the table together?? I kind of think this qualities when incoporated together pose a huge threat. ...could you tell me what should I aim for during training for these three qualities together? As well as the technical actions to explain each effect? Many thanks.I would really appreciate it.

You need to get the angle of your stroke and contact correct. You must train this a lot to get it right.  It doesn't just come in a week or with theory.  A really important principle to remember is that it is practice that will actually lead to your improvement.

Thank you very much. I understand. In this case, do you suggest I trial and error or is there something I should aim for? like everytime the ball comes, I must hit in a certain way, or time, or aim for more spin etc...
