Hi William,

We will do a video on the Backhand loop or topspin soon. Here are the basics.

Staying with our principles of start and finish positions:

Start with your bat at knee high and in fron tof you or near your left knee (For right hander). Swing up and forward and finish with your bat at head high and on the right hand side of your body.

Remember when you are lifting backspin the swing needs to be more vertical. The contact needs to be a brushing action. Look at the video on the
Forehand Topspin against Backspin
and adapt it to the backhand. A lot of the principles are the same.

We would love for other readers to share their experiences on how they learned the Backhand Topspin. Add your comments below.

Stop Coming Back to Ready Position! Do This Instead…

Most players are told to always return to the ready position after every stroke but that might be hurting your game. In this video, we reveal a smarter way to recover:

✔ Track the ball immediately after your shot
✔ Move your racket into position for the next shot instead of blindly resetting
✔ Improve your timing, balance, and flow during rallies

Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, understanding this subtle change can have a big impact on your consistency and speed around the table.
