When I hit the ball with my backhand, the ball always goes to the net. Why?

Try changing the bat angle a bit. If you are confident you have the stroke looking like it should by copying our lesson on The Backhand Counterhit then you may need to open the angle of your bat a little. By open I mean face it more to the roof. This may only need a very small adjustment.

you can also hit the ball more vertical..
