Hey Coach,

When doing the backhand flick, should the paddle contact with the ball closer to the tip of the blade, or near the handle?
Thanks!

Hi Micka,

You can contact the ball closer to the centre or s little more to the tip which is moving a bit faster.

Relaxation: The Secret to More Power

In this video we show you a simple trick to improve your strokes by making them more economical. You'll notice increased power for less effort. When you tense your muscles too much you actually get less power and become more tired. However when you relax the opposite happens. It's why all the best players look like they are hitting the ball so hard without much effort.

Yes,

You can see that in most of Jeff's videos - he's very good and very consistent at hitting backhand topspin and backhand flicks with the upper central part of the bat for increased action on the ball. I'm also working towards this, but it will take a while to hit Jeff's consistency level (if ever) :P

Thanks,
Sam
