Hi,

I want to ask how to hit the backhand down the line when someone pushes at your backhand side with an angle to the end of the table (table line) and the the ball goes further away after it hits the table.

Thank in advance.

Hi Trilochan,

You don't need to change much at all to switch from hitting the ball across cour to hitting the ball down the line. As a general rule with the backhand you stand square on to where you want to hit the ball. So if you are going down the line, you stand a bit more square on to the table than you would if you wanted to hit the ball across court. As you get better at the stroke you can even change the direction without changing your stance but just angling your bat more with your arm and your wrist as play the shot.
