Hi coach,

i wanted to know how to get topspin on my backhand, i tried ur lesson but was having troubles cause the ball gets hit pretty flat, and turning the bat face down isn't as easy as doing it in the forehand, do u have any tips on changing bat angle in the back hand more comfortably, thx coach

Hi,

The only thing I would say is to watch the result of where your ball goes.  Then allow yourself to adjust to this.  YOu will find that you will start to naturally turn your bat over or brush the ball a little more to compensate for the error.

One thing to try is to get your bat lower down to start with, at around or below hip height.  Then, swing upward until contact and roll it forward.  Another important thing is to learn the feel of the proper contact to generate some good spin.  Try standing behind an obstacle and using your backhand to loop it over it and onto the table.  Hope it helps.
