Hi Coach,

You always suggest to play attacking game on long ball like topspin. I started it but problem is that my opponents are very clever they always throw long ball very close to net and very low in table so when i tpospin it, it goes in net so what should i do for such floaters and topspin long shots.

THAX and BR.

Hi Ahtesham,

You need to work on a strategy to get them to give you an easier long ball.  So perhaps you can think of working on your serves or return of serve so that they are not able to dictate where they are placing the ball.

You can also work on your own short pushing.  If you are able to push the ball short a couple of times in the rally, you will most often get a long ball that you will be able to attack.

If the ball is close to the net but high with less spin you can Flick the ball.  This is easier than trying to topspin the ball over the table.

The early part of the rally is crucial to your strategy.  So the serve, return of serve and the third ball are crucial.

Lastly, work on your Forehand Loop Off Backspin.  If you get this strong then you will be able to adjust better to the balls that have more spin or are closer to the edge of the table.
