Hi Alois,

Is it good to drop the wrist and play forehand loop when attacking backspin serve in doubles and then switch back to normal forehand loop (wrist not bent) while playing rallies? What are the advantages and disadvantages of attacking the serve using the wrist in forehand?

Hi Parth,

The wrist should be a continuation of the stroke.  When you need to get more speed on the stroke or lift a heavier ball then you can relax it and allow it to move with the rest of your arm.  For more control, you can keep your wrist firmer.  So you can switch between the two strokes during a rally depending on the type of ball that they give you.
