attacking against heavy chopping

Hi There, Having restarted playing after a long break I am, doing fine ,buti am having difficulty attacking against a heavy chopper. I cannot stop putting the ball into the net, I try to put top spin on but it does not seem to be working, what am I doing wrong, Yours Robert.

Hi Robert,

Without seeing the actual stroke this is difficult.  However, try starting a little lower with your stroke and making the stroke more vertical.  You may even be putting too much of a brushing contact on the ball.  It is a trade off between brushing the ball with good lift and brushing the ball too lightly and not getting enough lift.

The other factor may be that you are not moving your bat through fast enough.  Try just getting the action a little faster.
