Apoligizing in Table Tennis

Hi Alois and Jeff,

I've seen many rallies in table tennis, but sometimes the ball doesn't bounce the opponents table perfectly. I mean, the ball sometimes hits the end of the table and sometimes it bounces on the net and bounces again on the table. It is really hard to return them and many players raise their hand. Is that called "Apologizing"?

Thanks a lot
Regards, Archel

Hi Archel,

The etiquette is for the player to put their hand up to acknowledge the bit of luck they may have had.
