Anti-spin Rubber

Strategy

I'd like some advice on playing against anti-spin rubber. I find myself floating the ball long or prodding it into the net. To make matters worse, my opponent has orthodox rubber on one side and he twiddles the sides.

Hi Syd,

The anti spin reverses the spin on the ball.  If you can find the anti spin with a backspin ball it will give you a topspin ball back to you.

If they are switching it makes it a lot harder to play against.  The key is to finding the anti spin on their forehand.  This is an awkward ball for them.

You really need to watch the ball closely to see which side they have hit the ball with.  The more you can play against them the easier it will get.  I remember playing against a few players that used this style and when I was watching the ball well I did well.

The other important thing is to move well and adjust to the short and longer ball with the differences off the different rubbers.
