I have a player in my team who refuses to learn the proper strokes and just does some basement ping pong crappy sidespin or chopish stokes and tryes so smash heavy backspin balls.  He knows nothing about the effect of lps or of different serves... and doesnt want to learn, why compete if you do not want to better yourself.  He practices but its not perfect practice.  He's just getting good at beeing an amateur and thats worth nothing against real table tennis players.  What would you do if a player was like this that played with you.

Hi Fred,

This is an interesting one.  Unfortunately if people don't want to learn it is very difficult to teach them.  you are better off challenging that energy you have for table tennis into your own game I think.  I have always found this situation frustrating too and now try to let it go.
