Alois Rosario
Olympic and Paralympic table tennis coach
Alois started playing table tennis at just 5 years old, dedicating countless hours to perfecting his skills. By 9, he was competing, and throughout his junior career, he won State Junior championship titles across all age groups from Under 10 to Under 18.
As an elite player, Alois won two State Men's Singles titles and two National Doubles titles. He represented Australia internationally on the National Senior team from 1986 to 1991, competing in two World Championships and the Asian Championships in Shenzhen, China.
In 1986, Alois shifted his focus toward coaching. As Development Manager for the State Table Tennis Association, he coached school children, senior players, and co-authored the TOPS Table Tennis Manual, now part of the ITTF Level 1 Coaching course.
Alois coached the Australian Olympic Team at the 2004 Athens Olympics and managed the Commonwealth Games Men's team in Manchester in 2002. He has also coached at the 2012 London, 2016 Rio, 2020 Tokyo, and 2024 France Paralympic Games.
