The Relative Age Effect

If you’ve never heard about the relative age effect then you’ve got to watch this PingPod. I first read about the relative age effect in the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. If you’ve got any experiences with this topic we’d love for you to leave a comment. We also discuss the double hit rule which often causes confusion.

Hi, Just seen your explanation of the double hit rule in which you say that if the ball hits your finger and the bat but not intentionally it is a good hit. Am I right in saying that this includes not just the finger but anywhere below the wrist and also it wouldn't matter if the ball hit the bat first or the hand below the wrist first.

Thanks for your most helpful help and advice in your videos..............Les

Hi Les,

You are right.  It can hit anywhere below the wrist and hit the bat or the hand first.

Glad that you are finding the videos helpful.

Your success or failure in the educational system wasn't because you were more or less capable.  It was because you were older or younger than your classmates.
