What's Down the Line and Cross Court

Hi PingSkills, may I know what's down the line and cross court ? i always heard that thing but i really don't know what it means
please tell me clearly about that down the line and cross court

Hi Frendy,

Cross court is playing diagonally.  Down the line means straight down the table.  

So if you are talking about 2 right handers playing, cross court would be playing from forehand corner to forehand corner or backhand corner to backhand corner.

Playing down the line would be from forehand to backhand or vice versa.
