Weight Transfer on Pendulum Serve

Serving

Hi PingSkills

I want to ask about the weight transfer on the pendulum serve

I watched a video of Ma Long instruction with the pendulum serve

He said that he used his body transfer to do the serve. First, he focus on the Center Gravity of his body with his left leg (right hand), body, and arm low.

Then, after throwing the ball, he used his arm to do the pendulum serve following with his body doing a slight thrust for the short serve and significant thrust on the long serve

What do you think about it? I never thought about the center gravity and weight transfer before!

Hi Frendy,

It is important to be low when serving so that it is easier to move into position for the next ball.  That is what he is talking about here.

The Float Serve

The float or no spin serve is an effective tool to have in your bag of serves. It adds good variation to your serves and can often set you up with an easy 3rd ball opportunity.
