View of the net while playing topspins

Strokes

Dear Sir,

I am new to table tennis and trying to learn top spins (particularly against balls that have underspin, low high and falling near to edge of the table).

In this case, contacting the ball when it is @ it's highest position is difficult for me. But looping does not generate enough speed.

I see some players bend to the level of the nets to pull up such balls. What should be the line of eyesight while top spinning such balls.

Thanks Ganesh

HI Ganesh,

Try to bend your knees quite low.  Depending on your height you should have your eyes about 30cm above the net level.  The most important thing is thinking about the bend in your knees.

Banana Flick

The banana flick has become one of the most important returns in table tennis. It allows you to attack almost any short ball and places your opponent under immediate pressure. Still it is a difficult stroke that takes a lot of practice to master.

Thanks a lot for the tip. I am just 166 cms and so I should be easily able to get the view of net + 30 cms. I will practice it by bending knees instead of bending my back (which I am used to now). Thanks Ganesh
