Receiving
Since the server has so many different options for a serve, what should the receiver be thinking of before the point begins?
Hi Jasper,
This is an important thing to understand. You are correct that the server has an endless amount of options before serving, including right up to mishitting the serve and the ball ballooning up in the air.
Therefore we must allow our minds to be open and basically watch the ball from the point of them holding it in their hand and then following it all the way through the serve.
This will give you the most accurate information about the serve.
If you prejudge or try to anticipate, you will find you will get yourself into trouble.
