alois sir can a forehand smash is successful at the level where everyone does forehand topspin. I am asking this because my friend always does the forehand smash at that level where everyone does forehand topspin. when I try it is not successful. how can I do that kind of forehand smash
Hi Aditya,
It is possible but it is a more risky stroke because you don't have the topspin to drag the ball onto the table. You need to get the ball at the peak of the bounce and hit it flat and accurately.
The topspin allows you to have a greater margin for error.
A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position. So keep the ball short on your serve and try and catch them unprepared. Watch the video to find out more great tactics to use against a defensive chopper.
