Service receive problems

Receiving

Hi there coach.

I have problems in receiving serves. I tend to rush and hit the ball recklessly and I often lose the point for it. Is there any way that can help me be more patient in receiving the serve? And what should be my mindset before or while preparing to return the serve? thanks in advance :)

Hi Wayne,

See if you can wait for the ball and have the same timing as you would with other shots.

I think a good simple mindset for receiving serve is to think that if the ball is short you will push it back short and if the ball is long you wait till the ball comes off the table and make a topspin.
