My 10 year old son is starting to get more interested in Table Tennis. He has an ok forehand drive and is working on his backhand. What is the best rubber to use to help further develop his game?
Hi Andrew,
Something fairly slow. We use Lion 5 Stars rubber on our PingSkills Rook bat. There are literally hundreds of options out there.
Make sure it is an inverted rubber with some sponge, around 1.5 to 2mm. Make sure that when he hits with it that he is not compromising his stroke because of the speed of the rubber.
If you look at the range from the more reputable companies they will have a slow version of rubber that will fit the bill.
Make sure you buy a table tennis bat that is suitable for your level and allows you to develop your technique. For your first bat we recommend the PingSkills Rook, and when you upgrade to a custom bat we recommend the PingSkills Touch with Mark V or Rakza 7.
