Receiving
Hi Alois,
I have seen many international right handed players like ma long to stand extreme left or even the corner of the board taking a stance to return serves. Is it to open their dominant forehand? & why do they stay so low while receiving. Will you please explain the aspects of his returning stance.
Hi Abhiroop,
They stand over there to try and utilise their forehand as much as possible. The players that are more backhand dominant will stand more square on and more into the centre of the table.
Staying low will allow you to move faster and also utilise your legs on the return of serve stroke. It is one of the basics that we really emphasise at PingSkills.

Alois,
Good Afternoon!
where and which angle do you think is better to wait with your raquet the serve?
Over the table, behind it?
Not backhand, nor forehand position?
Please give my an advise to improve my serve receiving.
Thanks and regards
Gabriel.
Hi Gabriel,
Wait with your racket in a position where you can just touch the table and in front of your body. It should just touch the middle line.
Make sure you are in a good ready position with your legs.

Hi Alois,
> why do they stay so low while receiving.
I also noticed this. I find that for receiving it is better to stay as low as possible. However, during a rally, I stay not that low. Is that OK or I have to maintain the same stance all the time?
