Receiving a long bottomspin serve with backhand

Receiving

How do I return a long bottomspin serve on my backhand? If I do a simple chop/push, the ball will go too high giving my opponent a good oppurtunity to smash/attack and the only other option I have is to do a backhand loop but they aren't always very accurate and go into the net.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Arien,

You are on the right track.  The key is to develop your Backhand Topspin Off Backspin stroke.  This will take a bit of time but it will be the best option for you.

One of the things I find helps is that if your opponent is serving a lot of these serves, take half a step away to get into your ready position.  This will give you a little more time and will put you into a better position to make the stroke.
