Hi Mahezzuan,

Are you normally a defender? Would you play defensively against other opponents?

If you are normally a defender then I would encourage you to stick with this against this opponent. However if you are normally an attacker then I would not change my style completely because of your opponent.

What you need to do is improve your game so you can return his serve at least as well as he returns yours. Often the key against really good attackers is your short game. If you can stop them attacking and make the first attack yourself, you will have the best opportunity to win the game.

Hi Mahezzuan,

In that case I would not try to defend and chop against this opponent. He will be playing his best game and you will be playing a game you don't normally play.

As I mentioned before, you need to stop him from attacking. You do this by serving the ball short and returning his serves short (or attacking them yourself). If you can stop his main weapon you will be in a good position to win the game.
