Open palm rule

My son suffered a broken arm which has damaged some of its nerves.He cannot fully open his palm in tossing the ball.What are the general rules in this kind of case?

Hi Noel,

If he shows the Referee or Umpire at the start of the match then allowances can be made to modify his service action.

Part of the Service rule covers this.

2.06.07  Exceptionally, the umpire may relax the requirements for a correct service where he or she is satisfied that compliance is prevented by physical disability.

Doubles Serving Rules

In this video we go over the somewhat complicated rules of serving for doubles in table tennis. There are a couple of extra rules for doubles that you don't apply to singles. In doubles you always serve from the right hand box diagonally to your opponent's right hand box. Each player has 2 serves each. If you've just been receiving then it's your turn to serve next.
