Hi Alois! Hi Jeff!

I want to ask you how to return short no spin ball below the high of the net except with the backhand sidespin flick. I try to push it but it goes up high and my opponent can attack it very easy. I try to make a normal flick but it falls into the net or off the table because there is no backspin. What should I do?

Hi Nasko,

To push the no spin serve you need to get the stroke coming almost vertically down.  Still brush the ball to get a bit of backspin on it.

To flick it you need to adjust to the amount of spin that is on the ball.  If there is no spin then come forward more.  The ones that are going into the net may have a little backspin on them.

I thought my ball is falling into the net because it is below the high of the net. But you are the master so you know more than me. Thank you that you have answered my question.
