Sir, I want to ask that how I can attack sidespin flick. One of my freind has learnt fast sidespin flick like fan zhendong and he flick very fast with little bit sidespin on it. It is very fast. And he is doing flick in any direction so how can I attack this type of flick which is very fast? Can I do topspin on that ball or I flick back or block the ball. Please suggest attack.

Hi Devansh,

If you want to attack I'd suggest using a topspin stroke. Often when someone uses the sidespin flick, it feels like the ball drops off your bat a bit when you hit it so you might need to lift the ball more than you think. As long as you get a good brushing contact you'll get plenty of topspin and be able to make the attack. Give that a try and let me know how it goes.
