hi pingskills

Today I have two questions

1) in a week how many hours i should practice to be a pro player on the next 8 years of practicing without a coach ( only pingskills )

2) on the last 2 months i have changed my bat  to the stiga mendo offensive oversize bat with hard 2mm sponge. My friends say that my strokes are good and powerful so i think  that in this level i need to use a assembly bat but i feel like it is too expensive that a good rubber is going to cost me from 25 USD to over 80 USD for one side and about 50 to 150 USD for the blade so it is very expensive by the way I bought my last bat for 55 US D

So should I buy a custom made bat or still on my factory made bat

Hi Yasir,

A general rule is that you need to play for about 10,000 hours to become proficient at a skill.  So work out how you can get those 10,000 hours in 8 years.  It works out at a lot of table time and dedication.  Take a look at our blog on “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell – Book Review.

As far as a racket, if you are looking to really go to the next level you probably should think about a custom made bat.  They can be expensive, I know, but it will help you if you can afford it.

#9 - Forehand Attacking Technique

In this session we introduce some random drills. A random drill is where you don't always know where the ball is going. Random drills are really important for your development as they are more game like. You need to be able to play your strokes well even when you don't know where the ball is going. We also continue to work on your new serve. This week we introduce a target into your service practice to help you gain even more control on your serve.
