How should I smash a low ball? I am finding it difficult to do.

Hi Krishna,

When the ball is low it is best to make a topspin stroke.  This will give you a better margin for error over the net.  If you try to smash a low ball you will end with a lot of errors.

Take a look at the lesson we have on the Forehand Topspin.  This is the stroke you should use in this situation.

and what about the Mid-Height ball?

I have a serious attacking "hole" where the ball is too high to be looped, but still too low to be smashed

I usually do a loop against those balls. I don't think the gap between "can be looped" and "can be smashed" balls though. I smash balls when it is above shoulder height. If it is in that area, I wait it out a little bit before hitting

I usually smash from eye level.

My "hole" is caused by my habit of looping from enormously low positions to ensure the maximum spin.

The most difficult balls fro me are slightly under the shoulder level.
Attacking these balls by smash is very risky, and if I would try to loop it,I would have to bend my body sideways or stand to my tiptopes to reach it comfrotably.

I recommend you wait it out, D K. Once the ball falls to your looping zone, it is time for you to loop

I can apply this only for longer balls.

Otherwise I usually hit the table from under.
