Training
Hi Coach
I'm Sinatesla and I'm 13 years old. I started table tennis about a year ago. I had made so much progress that I had reached the provincial semifinals but I didn't go to the club for three months due to a busy schedule and that's what made me drop. Now I'm losing to the weakest.
Can you give me some guidance so I can move on? Of course I know you shouldn't rush.
We Iranians have a saying that says if you're wanting you can make a cake from Grape Groats.
Yours sincerely sinatesla
Hi Sinatesia,
At 13 years of age don't worry about short term drop in ability. Just focus on where you are at the moment and work consistently for the next few years. Then you will start to improve quickly and achieve your goals.
In this session we introduce some random drills. A random drill is where you don't always know where the ball is going. Random drills are really important for your development as they are more game like. You need to be able to play your strokes well even when you don't know where the ball is going. We also continue to work on your new serve. This week we introduce a target into your service practice to help you gain even more control on your serve.
