Footwork
Coach I need your help with this one. I coach an adult small player who is a very athletic and talented. She is 5 feet tall and can't do the pivot-and-crossover-step-foot work as shown in your video. She needs to take another step to get there. She is very quick on her feet.
I would really appreciate it if you could please do a video on how smaller players can accomplish this drill. It would also be helpful to younger players.
Phil
Hi Phil,
If she can't make it with one strep then get her to take an extra step to reach the ball.
The pivot is where you are moving around your backhand corner to play a forehand. This is something that will come in handy in a match situation, especially if you have a stronger forehand. We will show you the best way to move in the pivot footwork.
