I just watched He Zhi Wen on a video and I see that he is able to play so well without needing to move and his smashes are just so powerful. His reaction to each ball is world class too. But how is he playing so well even at such an old age? It's incredible!

He is incredible to maintain his level for so long.
His efficiency is definitely something that he does well and is able to pivot with minimal effort. His ability also comes from eh many hours he put in at an early age. By maintaining his fitness and body he is able to also maintain his on table ability.

It seems to me that He Zhi Wen follows a saying of Bruce Lee "I am not afraid of a man who once tried 10000 different kicks. But I am afraid of a man who tried a single kick 10000 times."
He Zhi Wen basically uses only one stroke from each side.
That means he had much more time to focus on the strokes,because he has less of them :D
