Hi Jeff,

Thought to consult you on this subject. My opponents most of the time use backhand sidespin or backhand topspin against me which to my surprise I struggle to return using the forehand topspin. I tried even starting for a lower distance or increase the trajectory of the bat it works sometimes but most of the time falls outside the court or bounces too high if the bat enabling my opponents to always smash.. Please give me a suggestion..

Thanks in advance coach?

Hi Sai,

Try to adapt to the different types of spin that is coming to you.  The changes can be subtle but by watching carefully the incoming ball and what happens when you hit it, you will start to make adjustments.

If you brush the ball fast yourself you will tend to eliminate some of the effect of the incoming spin.  If you have a slow contact on the ball, all the spin on the ball will take effect and spin off your bat.
