Strategy
Hi Alois,
I am entering my first tournament soon and I have a bat that's ittf approved, but I was just wondering about the shoes and what to wear. Do the shoes have to be specifically table tennis shoes or will running shoes do fine. Also are there any other requirements that most people don't know about that you could tell me?
Hi Thomas,
Firstly well done on entering your first tournament.
You can wear any runners. You may want to make sure they don’t have a marking sole which will mark the floors, but in general most runners are OK.
With your shirt, make sure it is does not have too much white on it if they are using a white ball. If they are using an orange ball then don’t wear to much yellow or orange.
Try to get to the venue early so that you get used to the place and even try to have a hit up with someone before you start your matches.
Good luck with the day and let us know how it all goes.
