Hi Chee Koo,

There are basically 3 extra rules.

Firstly you have to take it in turns with your partner to hit the ball.

Secondly you need to always serve from your right side box to their right side box (diagonally).

Thirdly you serve two serves to the same side and the same person.

Fourthly after your team finishes your two serve you change sides with your partner.

Take a look at our PDF Table Tennis Rules Brochure.  This outlines the rules of doubles as well.

Hitting the Ceiling

When the ball hits the ceiling the point is over. You must hit the ball directly back onto the table otherwise you lose the point. In International tournaments the roof needs to be at least 5 metres above the playing surface but in local competitions you might often encounter much lower ceilings.
