Hi I recently played a guy who had a very killer loop.It Had a lot of speed and spin.

I can do the slow spinny topspin. But my loops are usually fast and don't have a lot of topspin.

When I try to do a fine contact it is slow loop.

When he looped I could hear the sound of his fine contact but it was quite fast.

Hi Ali,

It is a matter of getting the right balance of fine contact and thick contact to get the ball to have a lot of spin and still have speed.

If the ball is too slow then get the contact a bit flatter and vice versa.

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
