Hello PingSkills!

Im having some trouble chopping the ball low over the net with my long pimples. Sometimes it goes low but occaisonaly it goes a bit higher and my opponent is able to smash the ball. Do you have any tips on how to get the ball lower over the net?

Hi Nikola,

Turn the bat face more forward and push forward on the stroke more to get it lower.  It is probably occurring when your opponent is giving you a backspin ball.  You could even attack the backspin balls.

I am glad to see that there are other choppers

I am also having the same problem, but I have already found out how to deal with bacskpin ball with longpips.

I am just unable to execute these strokes.

Your options are:

a flat drive-like stroke with quite opened bat

short, fast chop (or push-like move) if the ball is very long

If it is short, you can make the same stroke, but shorter,or you can just make a half-volley push-like stroke by pushing the bat under the ball and at the time of contact you can a little lift your bat but really very little, this is a passive control stroke.

or in the case of a longer ball you can make a standard loop-like stroke but with more opened bat, this has a little effect but can be a surprise

or a flat attacking stroke
