Training
Hey Alois and Jeff,
I very recently made the next 'step' in my ability that I had been working towards, which for me was improving my loops and drives as well as service return, which now allows me to actually be somewhat of a challenge for the better players at my club with rankings closer to 2000. As such, I have high hopes for my potential in the future of breaking a ranking of 2000.
As this has now been on my mind, I am curious as to what your 'final' steps were that you overcame in order to attain a ranking of 2000? Or what aspects of your game you had to improve to beat players of that skill level?
I would also be interested in what other 'pingskillers' who have reached that ability would say.
Thanks again!
Hi Dakota,
I think the main thing is the ability to improve your serve and return of serve.
Then it is the confidence to play at that level as well. To feel you belong at that level. It doesn’t just come all of a sudden either. It tends to be gradual.
It will be good to hear other players experiences.
Often players spend more time practicing their forehand topspin over their backhand topspin. As a result their forehand becomes a stronger shot. If you want to improve your backhand then practice it! Watch this master class for some other great tips to get your backhand firing!
