How do i block a really fast and low serve going to the end of the table? (the ball usually gets to the crossover point near my stomach)

Even though i do manage to block the serve it either goes out or gets high into the air and gives them a really good chance of getting a smash.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Michael,

The important thing here is to get the angle of your bat correct.  Don't try to do too much with the serve.  You will find that a small change in the angle of your racket will make a difference to the height the ball goes over the net.

It sounds like you are often hitting the balltoo high.  So focus on adjusting the angle of your bat so that the ball goes lower.

Fake Movements

After the ball has left the server's bat, they can no longer affect the spin that is on the ball. Any movements after the contact are referred to as fake movements and are meant to confuse you as the receiver. You need to focus on the contact to read the spin.
