What type of shot should I try if I can't tell if top spin or back spin was put on the serve?
Hi Joseph,
The main thing is to have a short contact time with the ball on your racket. The longer the ball is on your racket the more the spin will take effect.
I suggest a sharp topspin stroke where you brush the ball quickly. When you do this you will be able to generate your own spin on the ball and get the ball travelling more in the direction you want it to.
