Strokes
Hi Sir,
When can we make topspin against chop return? Is the chop ball on the top position or when it is going down?
Thanks in advance
cihan
Hi Cihan,
You can hit it at the top of the bounce or later if you wish. When the ball is at the top of the bounce it is easier to make a strong topspin shot. When it is falling after the top of the bounce it feels easier to making a lifting slower topspin. You should try both positions and see what feels best for you.
The key is to countering a chop block is to ensure you wait for the ball as it comes through much slower compared to a normal block. You also need to lift the ball more than you would against a regular block.
