Hi Alois

If there is a good backspinner-penholder play backspin vs topspin against a good topspinner-shakehander, who will have a better chance to win the point?

And i have tried your suggestion to fight against a player with good defence and control by top spin so i have more margin over the net, but i doesn't really good at topspin, i just can make a topspin if the ball is slow or "hitting the foeehand from below the table level", so i counter it by backspin (my favourite spin)

Thank you so much!

I will wait for your reply

Hi Kevin,

It is quite difficult to defend with pen hold that is why there are not a lot of penhold defenders around.  Of course it will always depend on the levels of each player.

Keep working on your topspin against backspin.  It is OK to push the ball back but you will find that most defenders are good at this part of the game as well.
