Hey there..

I just lost in the finals of my college's teble tennis tournament and placed 2nd overall. Its all thanks to pingskills that I got 2nd in my first tournament.

Now im really disappointed about that final match because i cant play properly due to nervousness caused by many audience and spectators... I dont really have problems about techniques its just that im really concerned and affected by distractions caused by the spectators.. I want my full concentration on the game only

what should I do to overcome this? thanks in advance

Hi Gian,

Firstly well done on making the final.

Playing in front of an audience is something that you can get used to but you need to be placed in that situation a lot.

Try to start with by just focusing as well as you can on the ball.  The better that you can do this, the less you will notice the crowd and other distractions.Remember that you will get a little nervous, as most people will.

I'm far from a brilliant player but also have a problem about being nervous. However, I never play for a big crowd but I get very nervous very fast. When I had to do my drivers license, I had to take a pill to lower my blood pressure and it helped like a charm but I can't use this on regular bases. I think it's a matter of getting used to this kind of nerves and trying to find something to focus on.
