Attack lower ball

Hi coach,

Can i attack the ball that higher than the net but not as high as the one that you show on the forehand smash video with the same stroke as you did in that video? Or I have to topspin it?

Hi Somchai,

If the ball is a bit lower it is best to topspin it.  You can still make a fast stroke but the topspin will make the shot a bit safer than a smash.

 I think it depends on 1) the current speed of the ball 2)the spin on the ball .If the ball is too fast ,it's difficult to make a fast stroke with control and a topspin could be very effective.If the ball has backspin or side-spin , smashing a relatively low ball  can cause unforced errors and again a topspin will be effective
