Can I have a beginner guide for how to find out the opponent's weakness during a match? Is there any optimised routine we can run through to quickly test out the opponent's strength, weakness and habits?

Thank you very much

Hi Hin,

First during the warm up play to both sides. Use both topspin and blocking to see what they have.

Then in a match try all of your serves and see what works.

Then think about which side they play better strokes from, Forehand or Backhand.  Are there any combinations of these strokes that they struggle with?

Try to find returns to their serves that trouble them as well.

During the match some of this may change so keep thinking during the game about what is working.
