hi coach alois,

could you give me some tips on how to properly execute a 3rd ball attack? like what kind of serve and spin u must do to set up a loop? thanks:)

Hi,

This depends on your opponent. The idea with 3rd ball is to find a serve that will give your opponent problems.  You are looking for them to give you a weak return so that you can attack it.  Each player will have different serves that they will fin difficult.

It is important to record this somewhere so that the next time you play them you will remember what serves they don't like that will give you the 3rd ball opportunity.You can use the PingSkills Vault for this purpose.

Tactics Against A Defensive Chopper

A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position.
